Great share Pat. As a mom, who is constantly searching things not only during pregnancy but about my son's symptoms when he is sick, I have to say YES, the internet does cause Cyberchondria-- and I blame it on google. It's a great tool but very poorly filtered and we as google users should be wary of which results we click on.

However, poor results or not, the truth is that some symptoms are the same for many conditions and this is what gets our head spinning. I can't tell you how many times I swore my son had an ear infection when he was simply teething or had a cold. Or how I thought I had an itching disease which could harm my baby when I was pregnant and how silly I felt when my doctor looked at me like I was crazy.

I have mistakenly google'd many different symptoms that I now wish I never had. Sometimes it is better not to be in the know about certain things than to cause unnecessary stress.
