I don't even know what to say. You hear about this sort of thing every once in a while -- someone's attempt to take advantage of others by playing on their emotions and on their goodwill.
I remember after 9/11 that some people who were nowhere near the disaster were saying that they were, in order to possibly become eligible for victims funds.
People like this need to pay the consequences, but they also need therapy. There are clearly mental issues going on when people go to this extent, and they need to be addressed.
