Hi Alison you sound very knowledgeable in the medical field. I've been a medical assistant for 17 years. I have no explanation for what is going on with me, and I was wondering if you could help me.? I always call it "The spine crushing feeling " When I open my eyes and I go to move it feels as if I move one muscle my entire insides are going to crumble my spine is going to crumble. I believe it has more to do with the skeletal system the low back and mid back. When I wake up when I after going to the bathroom it seems to relieve some of the pain but it usually lasts hours and hours. I have not slept in a bed for over five years I don't get this feeling on the couch but if I sleep in a bed any bed it happens. I even bought a sleep number bed so I can change the firmness of the bed . That hasn't helped either. Now I'm starting to get it from sleepingon my couch . I'm terrified I don't know where I'm going to be able to sleep anymore. I would be interested in anything you could offer as assistance.
Thank you very much ! PS I sleep fine during the night it's just when I wake up that it feels like my entire spine is going to crumble if I move one muscle. Thanks Christine
