Hi, Kraebel! Thanks for writing back!

Well, I'm sure it was extra worrisome to hear that he's looking for cancer, but here's the way I feel about that: If there's a chance of it, you want to know, and you want to know NOW. The earlier the better, so you can arm yourself with information and action and kick its butt!

Let me show you our uterine cancer page:

https://www.empowher.com/media/reference/uterine-cancer#definition

That page includes information on risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis and treatments. At 36, you are a little young for this; our page says that 50 to 60 is a more common age. Symptoms include:
◦Abnormal bleeding between menstrual periods
◦Vaginal bleeding or spotting in postmenopausal women
◦Pain in the pelvic area
◦Pain during urination
◦Pain during intercourse
But as you know, those symptoms can be caused by other conditions as well, including perimenopause, fibroids, endometriosis and so on. This is why your doctor wants to rule out cancer. It's the most important step on his pathway to figuring out what's going on.

Please do call and find out the name of the test that's to be done on 12/30, and we'll get you some more information on what to expect.

Enjoy the holidays, and don't fret too much! Get good rest, eat good food, practice stress reduction, and come back and let us know what happens, ok?
