Linedancer,

An expert in parathyroid diseases would be an Endocrinologist, and there are a few sources for you to begin your search:

1. American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) has a "find a physician" search:
- Search results for Phoenix, AZ
- Search Results for Tucson, AZ

2. Check with your trusted doctors, co-workers, friends, neighbors and family for referrals or recommendations

3. Check with local clinics, university hospitals and hospitals for referrals or recommendations

4. Check with your health insurance for requirements ("in-network"), and if seeing a specialist is only covered with a doctor's referral. You may have a narrowed-down list just from whom your health insurance approves of.

5. Once you've narrowed down your list of Endocrinologists, you can call a few to inquire about their practices, depending on what is important to you. You can also do some research online about each physician, as many people may prefer a specific gender, or an affiliated hospital, or a small clinic vs. large clinic. Does this person specialize in your area, and most importantly when you call, do you feel there is good patient rapport? Are they accepting new patients at this time?

I hope this helps, and please let us know if you have any additional questions about your parathyroid condition; I am curious what "14 of the 16" symptoms you have, and what doctor(s) you have already been to for testing?
