mmm23,

I am sorry you are experiencing this. Due to the great loss of blood I would personally take an iron supplement. As far as who to see, an ob/gyn would be the adequate doctor to visit. The excessive loss of blood could be related to your history with ovarian cysts. Are your periods usually normal? or do they skip around sometimes?

Some questions to ask the doctor is how long after the bleeding starts should you wait to either see him/her or go to the ER?

Ask if he/she recommends any supplements during times of blood loss.

You may want to have an ultrasound scheduled if you haven't had any yet. Although many cysts are common and go away on their own it is important to know that they are not growing.

Ask if there are any limitations you may have due to the excessive bleeding.

Good Luck and ask anything that may be on your mind about the cysts and bleeding.
