I don't know if the issue is that doctors "lack the courage" to advise side effects, etc., as much as it's that they just don't know. The number of pharmaceuticals released to consumers is staggering, and there's no way for doctors to keep up with the education, unless they take the time to educate themselves. Pharm reps drop off pamphlets, samples and fun goodies for the office -- the samples are stowed, the goodies are divided between the front and back offices and the pamphlets get...well, filed. Sure, they could check their PDR, but the new drugs wouldn't be published, as the PDR is published annually.

The other problem is that medical doctors don't receive nutritional training in medical school. Nor do they receive training about natural therapies. Again, these are elective courses outside of medical school. And this is why people need to contact a Naturopath or other appropriately trained natural health practitioner for information regarding natural therapies.

BTW, what happened to MJ is nothing but pure negligence on the part of Dr Murray. NO ONE administers that IV and leaves the patient....ever. To that end, how he is still practicing medicine (Texas) is beyond me.
