I ended up on this site, because I did a Google search and I have the exact same symptoms in my right leg. It's happened a handful of times in the past three days, when walking, sitting, and lying down. Haven't seen a doctor yet, but have been racking my brain trying to see if I did anything different the past three days and one thing I can think of is dehydration and a high sodium intake, and even though it largely doesn't feel like it, I'm wondering if it's not a leg cramp. I'm thinking that it possibly doesn't feel like a cramp, because it's in an unusual spot for a cramp and is always in the same spot, next to my shin bone. But it's similar in that it's a crushing pain that goes away when I'm able to move my leg around. I'm going to try drinking more water, eating some potassium-rich foods, and avoiding wine (which I had been drinking a lot of the past three days too). Anyway, just a theory, I'll see how it goes, but wanted to share in case it might be helpful for someone else.
