Dear Pink Bombshell,

It is sometimes difficult to predict ovulation when your period is very irregular. If, however, your period is regularly irregular (ie. It comes every 38 days) then an ovulation calculator can help you predict when you are ovulating http://www.ovulation-calculator.com/

If your period comes one month and not the other or comes at day 30 one month and day 45 the next, that's when it gets tricky. There are ovulation tests very similar to pregnancy tests sold in the family planning isle at drug stores. The problem with these tests is that you need to have some type of normalcy in your cycle to determine which is the best week to test and see if you are ovulating.

Many Ob/GYN's will prescribe birth control pills to regulate your period. Has yours done this? It may become easier to predict which week out of the month you are ovulating once you have had somewhat regular cycles.

Best Wishes.
