I see a pirvite therapist who gives me my exercises and work out.
Its not an easy thing, but by no means do the piriformis muscle stretches, it made my get scar tissue and made my condition worse. Also when a massage therapist does a "release" its making it worse also, eventually it will come back. Yea, we get some relief, but its temp and not good.
You can google glute exercises and build your abs (core) up. A few at home I do for glutes is lay on your stomach, Pretend like your moving your arms in a breast strock swiming postion. Keep your legs together and rasied up while doing the breast stroke with your arms. I do 3 reps of 20 x 3 days a week.
Also do a seal clap with your legs while on your belly. Raise legs about 10" and open and shut them. Also you can lay on your belly and streach arms and legs out, hold position as if you were superman flying, then release.
I stretch my legs out first.
Stand at a chair for support, march your legs up and down 40 times. While at the chair, then do butt kicks with your legs (raise as if your kicking your butt at 90 degrees.)
