My two broken femurs are thanks to Zometa!!! I think a lot more investigation is needed with these bisphosphonates. I also have other bone issues such as osteoarthritis and degenerative bone disease...as well as Multiple Myeloma. After two years of monthly Zometa injections that I was told was used to "strengthen the bones" ~ when both femurs broke, I was told that "they weren't using the Zometa for bone strengthening, but for it's Myeloma fighting properties. It just shocks me that the doctor did not discontinue the drug once the first femur broke. But he was a Hemotologist and didn't care one little bit about a skeletal issue.
