Hi, Mshienie,

You are not alone. It is estimated that between 4 and 10 million people in the United States deal with obsessive-compulsive disorder and the thoughts that go along with it. So don't feel that you have to figure this out all by yourself, OK?

I'm glad that you are finding books, reading them and doing exercises to try to help yourself. That is awesome! At EmpowHer, we are all about women helping one another to find solutions and information about their own bodies, minds and healthcare. By trying to help yourself, you are taking important steps.

We have an in-depth page on OCD that might be of help to you:

And one of our HER writers, Zelda Borges, writes about her OCD, the things she is dealing with and her visits to her psychiatrist. You might be interested in following Zelda:

Have you seen a doctor or a therapist? Have you been officially diagnosed as OCD? Are you on any medication?
