To answer your first question, the uterine lining is shed every cycle during menstruation (lasting about 5-7 days average for normal period), and then the subsequent days after menstruation, the body's hormones "gears back up" in creating a thicker uterine lining (with the purpose of creating a welcoming environment for a fertilized egg for implantation, to sustain a pregnancy). Once the uterine lining is once again thick with no fertilized egg implanted, then the uterline lining is shed and another menstrual period is experienced. Does that answer your question?
Did your doctor talk with you about the expected outcome of cryoablation, as well as the recovery period afterwards? Women have discussed their different outcomes after endometrial cyroablation...everything from their periods completely stopping, to periods becoming shorter and lighter over time, to no change at all. Since your procedure was just done 13 days ago, I assume your doctor told you that you would need to wait a few cycles (or more?) to possibly see any changes? I'm sorry you were led to believe that the cryoablation would completely eliminate any bleeding immediately after your procedure, as that would be disappointing and frustrating.
Many women have irregular periods, as well as extremely painful or heavy periods, and I hope the cryoablation will prove to be successful for you.
