I can't locate the commet now but someone said I think that metronidazole was and antifungal. Um, no. It's an antibiotic for anaerobic bacteria used in the treatment of trichonomas or bacterial vaginosis so it can kill bacteria or certain protozoa. Sadly, this person who commented claims to be a nurse. I sure hope not. She is confusing this with miconazole which is strictly for yeast (fungal) infection. Both of these are extremely common so I give no excuses for misinformation from medical professionals!
