Men CAN carry Trich and BV. YES. Even without symptoms.You BOTH must take the meds. or you will pass it back and forth. Also, expect yucky discharge. White, brown, yellow green whatever. Its gross and its gonna happen. Understand that the discharge is your body and the med killing off the bacteria and fungus. As well, it may look like yeast infection, because its the yeast getting killed off and exiting.
If it is itchy still a few days after treatment, it may be a yeast infection CAUSED by the antibiotic. This happens because the antibiotic kills your good vaginal flora AND bad vaginal flora. So go get monistat or use natural methods of rinses. Also use PROBIOTICS. When you are done with the antibiotic you BOTH must start Probiotics to help your bodies replenish the good healthy bacteria your vagina needs to stay healthy - as well as your gut to digest food. There are probiotics geared especially for the vagina. You might get constipated if your good bacteria are too low. That means your food is probably not being digested well too. So probiotics are the way to go.
Anyway Ive been on both sides of this as a patient and a caregiver, I know the pain this infection causes. Good luck!
