Hi all, I have had hidradenitis suppurativa for over 13 years, but only got a diagnosis (by chance) when I saw an obstetrician in New Orleans (I am British). None of the previous doctors or surgeons who operated on it, ever diagnosed it in all those years. I am currently using an autoimmune diet to heal my body and more recently I have succumbed to using the strong antibiotics combo of Rifampicin and Clindamycin, prescribed by a dermatologist. It's a 10 week course. The relief is immense and I have my life back for the first time in years. No pain, no leaking. Nothing! It doesn't appear to work for everyone and whilst I haven't been as strict with my diet whilst I've been on them, I do notice that I start to flare if I eat any of my trigger foods, even with the antibiotics.
Please have a read of my blog, if you's like to know more. I am not selling anything, just sharing my experience and the resources I have used to help me tackle this disease. It's healing hidradenitis dot com.
Hope you enjoy it :)
