Dr. Christiane Northrup's book, "The Wisdom of Menopause," is my favorite book about menopause and about the decision between no hormones, bio-identical hormones and synthetic hormones. It is a wonderful book that contains more information about the different aspects of menopause than you can imagine. Here's a link to it:

You are right, with your situation you're going to have to work with your doctor to figure out what's right for you. And it may take a little while to get it exactly right. Your hormones are clearly at work in the issues you have had that are causing you to get a hysterectomy, so that must be taken into consideration.
