Miss Henderson,

Welcome to EmpowHer, and thank you for your question.

Anytime you miss your pill, you increase your chances of a pregnancy.

When you miss one pill, you are supposed to take it as soon as you remember.

When you miss two pills, you are supposed to take two pills two days in a row.

I don't know which days you missed, but here is an example:

Monday: missed pill
Tuesday: missed pill
Wednesday: Take two pills (Monday's and Tuesday's)
Thursday: Take two pills (Wednesday's and Thursday's).

So did you take the two pills two days in a row?

If not, and if you need to prevent a pregnancy, you may want to take the morning-after birth control pill, which is called Plan B. It is what you take after you have unprotected sex and you want to prevent a pregnancy. It is available over the counter at your pharmacy. It needs to be taken as soon as possible -- preferably within 24 hours of the unprotected sex, but for sure within 72 hours.

How long ago did this happen? Was it just in the last day or two?
