Hi L.A.,

There is no need to worry, this is a common thing with women. Your period can be affected by stress, weight loss, exercise or maybe for no reason at all. There is no clear indication as to why sometimes we miss our periods, it just is.

You shouldn't really be too concerned unless you miss your period for three months. If that is the case, you should seek physicians assistance. They can prescribe you medication that will force your period to start and then you usually go back to a regular cycle. Most physicians may also prescribe you the birth control pill also to try and regulate your period (even if your not sexually active).

As for the cramping feelings, welcome to womanhood. This also is all common and many women suffer from the cramps. Cramps are caused by shedding the inside layer of your uterus, then your ovaries squeeze and contract. This causes the blood to push out, causing cramps. Once your period starts, this pressure is usually relived and you feel better. Again, this is all common.

I hope this information helps you. Could you kindly keep us updated?
