My son has been diagnosed with apoxic brain injury after he suffered a cardiac arrest following a complexed heart operation as he also has complexed congenital heart condition. He's 22 already has learning disabilities but is finding it hard to recover after this as he is on and off the ventilator due to infections. He was kind of out of it for 40 mins during the cardiac arrest so has generalized brain injury. He has been moving his legs moving his lips to try to speak but cant although I'm trying to be hopeful I'm really wanting to know what kind I f care he will need so we can plan but I know this is hard to tell with brain injuries. I'm trying to do my own research as the medical doctors are good but don't tell u a great deal, I'm trying to be with him and talk to him as much as possible but we have 3 small children and I'm trying to divide my time between this. If anyone can share a simular experience please post. Xx
