I have a similar story, my dad suffered from anoxic brain injury and was without oxygen for 10 minutes. Doctors said he will not make it through the night and told us to pull the plug. We decided to give him 2 weeks to see how his progress goes. Doctors came in every day and told us how he isn't even human anymore, he has no brain activity, he couldn't breath and swallow on his own and how he has no hope. We were pressure to pull the plug. End of week 1 he started to open his eyes on command, but the doctors and nurses were saying its just involuntary and we will be lucky if he will ever breath on his own. Then my dad started to regain his continuousness and started breathing, swallowing, open his eyes and move. That was 2 month ago. He did suffer from extensive brain damage, but there is always hope! Don't give up and only you know whats the right thing for your family.
