Hi, my husband suffered a heat stroke, heart attack and anoxic brain injury. He was said to be in a persistent vegetative state. Five different doctor told me to pull the plug. Called me selfish, family members against me. This happens last year three days before our first son's wedding.
He is a pastor, and I believe in the promises of God, I believe that He has the last word. God would always want us to choose life.
My husband walked out of the hospital with no therapy. He eats, walks, enjoys his favorite comedy shows, prays for people. He still needs yeat to talk and recover some of his memory.
What helped me decide on what to do was the promises we made to each other on our wedding day "in sickness or in health".
I am exhausted, sad, and have lost my home, my husbands family and my own self worth. It has been a long dark lonely and scary road, all in the name of love.
Doctors know the science of medicine, but only we know our loved ones and their capacity to fight or give up.
