Laura,

Where do you live that you have been on a waiting list for 3 years? Are you in the UK, for instance?

I have news for you, Laura, if it's been three years on the waiting list, I have a hard time believing that your GP sees you as "urgent." Three years for an anorexic to wait for any therapy is an enormous amount of time. And if that GP thinks you are less urgent because you have put on a pound or two, then it's time to get a new GP.

I don't mean to be harsh. I just want you to get good care! And to know that you are important here!

What is your health care/ insurance situation?

You have to pat yourself on the back here. You have actually taken the MOST important step of all, and that is by putting yourself and your body first now. By slowly moving yourself up simply to the maintenance level of calories, you will be helping your body get more nutrition while you wait for therapy. Your goal here is to heal, to get better, to feel better about your body and yourself.

Do you have any idea at all how much longer you should have to wait for therapy?
