Dear Anon,

Although getting a tubal ligation is HIGHLY effective, it's not fool proof and your chances of all 5 tests being wrong are slim. Most of the time, when pregnancy tests are wrong they give false negatives, not positives. Once you get a positive result in a urine test, it's because the test is detecting the hcg hormone, which means you're pregnant. To qualify the results of a home pregnancy test, going to the doctor and having an ultrasound and blood test will definitely give you a "yes, you are pregnant" or "no, let's see what may have caused this positive result."

I know you were not prepared for this. But do you have a plan? What are your thoughts on having a child 8 years after having your tubes tied? Chances of it being an ectopic pregnancy also rise after you have had a tubal ligation, what are your thoughts? Please keep us posted!
