Hi Anonymous-

I am assuming you mean blood-tinged, like a little blood. Unless you mean a sensation?

First, unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy even without ejaculation, because there can be sperm in pre-ejaculatory fluid. So if you are trying to avoid pregnancy, you should use some sort of protection whether your partner ejaculates or not.

Second, you mention excessive discharge along with the blood. This makes me wonder if you have some sort of infection, whether just yeast or an STD. It would be a very good idea to see a health care provider for a checkup, pelvic exam and testing for STDs. Sometimes the symptoms can be subtle and even disappear altogether, but you can be left with an undiagnosed infection simmering in your pelvis. My thought is always better safe than sorry, because untreated STDs can result in infertility as well as other serious health problems.

Spotting between periods is not at all unusual. You could certainly just be spotting. But the unprotected sex and discharge make me worry that something else may be going on with you. Please see a health care provider and get checked out.
