Thank you, Pat Elliot. I am well familiar with the Arrowsmith School site, as well as lots and lots of associated sites. Many of these sites praise the results of the Arrowsmith school. Fine. However, although it is clear that she was inspired by research into brain plasticity (Luria, Rosenzweig), and that she has adopted the general conclusion that weaknesses in brain function can be strengthened rather than circumvented, there seems to be no independent objective investigation into the validity of her claim that her present methods are actually based on ongoing neuroplasticity research. Could it be that this program is successful because of traditional methods, combined with a couple of innovative pedagogical ideas based on broad notions of brain functions, methods which are well applied, something that is possible given the very high fees for the program? I do not know; I am looking for independent articles (not from the Arrowsmith website) which can tell me (and substantiate their conclusions). Thanks to anyone who can give me a lead.
