Icaradina,

Here's a link to a very good EmpowHer article on pulmonary embolisms:

https://www.empowher.com/news/herarticle/2009/11/30/what-pulmonary-embolism-symptoms-risk-factors-and-treatments?page=0,0

As far as your inconstent blood pressure readings, it's first important to know that a lot of things affect a blood pressure reading. The amount of caffeine you've recently ingested, or your stress level, or pain you may be feeling, whether you smoke, all these and more can affect that reading. But I am assuming that these are all readings that were done consistently?

There is some evidence that extremely variable blood pressure could indicate a higher risk of stroke (which I imagine concerns you since you recently had the embolism). Here's an article that discusses this:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_96301.html

And another:

You might print one of these out and ask your doctor about them the next time you go in. In the meantime, I'm glad your blood pressure seems to have stabilized. Do you have other medical conditions (diabetes, obesity, etc) that are being treated or monitored at the same time?
