I spent years of my life breaking the habit of holding back, not saying what I really felt, constantly trying to please other people, and feeling as if every thing I did was on a point system. Do the "right" thing, you're a "good" person". Do the "wrong" person, you're "bad". At 63 years of ago, I've gotten way past all that moralistic, self-critical analysis and just do and say whatever I feel in the moment. Can't flush the toilet, not my problem, the janitor will fix it. Bumped somebody's car and there's no dent, i drive off. I just do NOT think I have to go through life being "perfect" and always "doing the right thing." If I'm doing it, it's the right thing. But then, I'm an old crone, LOL.
