Hi,
Thanks for your question, and that is great that you and your girlfriend chose to use a condom. Condoms are up to 98% effective at preventing pregnancy, but I do have a few follow-up questions for you:
- You said the condom was wet when you pulled out. Were you holding the condom at the base, while still erect? If so, the condom would still have a snug fit around your penis, and holding it tight at the base would prevent any leakage.
- When you put on the condom, did you leave room at the tip (to make room for semen)? If so, this helps prevent any leakage, since there is plenty of room for ejaculatory fluid.

Most likely, the condom was wet from your girlfriend's vaginal lubrication. However, if you stayed inside of her until your penis had lost its erection, then it is possible for semen to leak/spill out of the condom as you withdraw your penis. Does that make sense?

Taking Plan B is a great extra precaution if you feel that your birth control method failed. Since your girlfriend is sexually active, is she interested in taking any forms of hormonal contraception (ie, the pill), since it is 99% effective at preventing pregnancy? That, along with the use of condoms, would provide great protection and lessen your worry about pregnancy.

Plan B does not cause breasts to swell the day after; I'm not sure what that is about, unless she is expecting her period soon and that is a symptom of PMS (pre-menstrual symptom).

Plan B may/may not cause bleeding, and that is not a sign of it being effective or not. The only sign of it being effective is your girlfriend starting her next menstrual period, which is the indicator that she is not pregnant. Plan B can cause irregular bleeding and/or an early or late period..all normal and not harmful.

Can you tell us when she is expecting her next period?
