Hi Anonymous-

It is possible, but there are other things that can cause those sensations as well. Sometimes even a migraine. Have you been to a doctor? If you had a ruptured aneurysm, they could probably see evidence of that on a CT or MRI, even now. There would be hints of it on the films.

Do you have any lasting symptoms? For instance, a facial droop or difficulty speaking or anything like that? You don't mention your age or any other medical issues. It is also possible you had something like a TIA or mini-stroke. We have a page on subarachnoid hemorrhage which is similar to what would happen with a ruptured aneurysm: https://www.empowher.com/media/reference/subarachnoid-hemorrhage

Any of these possibilities should really be checked out by a physician, because if it was a TIA, for instance, it can be followed by a stroke. So anytime something is going on in your head it is a good idea to get some medical care. I suggest you see your primary provider to discuss this, and then possibly a neurologist just to make sure you don't have anything going on that needs treatment.

You only get one brain, so take care of it! I would follow up with a doctor just to be sure everything is okay. Good luck, and thanks for writing.
