I am entering my third week of PR right now. It started with a mother patch on my chest then spread to my stomach, back, neck, forehead, and even my scalp. Over the past week I've noticed spots behind my thighs and all down my arms. I went to see a dermatologist about 5 days ago and he prescribed me prednisone. He said it was rare for PR to be so inflamed (he seemed fascinated). My skin felt like it was burning and it was bright red. The night before I went to see the derm, my skin was already starting to dry up just a bit but it was still so painful, bumpy, and burning. After taking the prednisone for 4 days now, the bumps have gone flat and I am really flaky just like a really bad sunburn. I'm starting to see my skin again and my mother path is gone. I still have spots that haven't gotten to the drying stage yet but I assume it's because they're newer. Does anyone know how long the flaky-ness will last? My skin feels really really dry - is there anything (safe) that I put on it? and why do I still itch so much?
