Ok, so just starting week 7. Seriously weeks 4 and 5 were the worst (so far), more and more rash appearing and spreading as far as my neck and down to my thighs. Chest and abdomen covered in this rash. Followed suggestions on this and other self help pages. I shower using Head and Shoulders shampoo as a body wash, then I cover spots in calamine lotion (to dry them out as its hot and humid summer weather right now in the part of Australia where I live, and sweating just brings out even more spots.) Then a week ago I started taking zinc supplements. I can definitely see an improvement. Some of the rash around armpits and upper thighs is fading, others are drying out and flaking off (sorry, this is gross, but fellow pityriasis rosea sufferers surely understand !) At least now I can imagine a time when this might actually be over, as fewer and fewer random new spots appearing on wrists, ankles etc. Looks like scarlike marks may remain for some time though. After everything a bit more healed, might then consider vitamin e or aloe vera cream to reduce scarring. Hang in there fellow sufferers ! Doctor assures me that in time it will pass !
