I healed my pityriasis rosea in three weeks without tanning. My case was BAD-- almost every inch of my skin below my neck to my knees was covered. As soon as I found out I had it, about a week after I first saw my herald patch, I started aggressively treating it:

Week 1: Covered body in head and shoulders extra strength dandruff shampoo. Let it sink in for about 5-10 mins, then rinsed off with a cool shower. The shampoo made it very red and angry for a bit after. After drying, I applied a homemade mixture Moon Valley EczemaCalm (which contains a lot of the same ingredients as Prreze), aloe vera, and few drops of Neem oil. This week, it got much worse, despite doing this 2-3x a day.

Week 2: The spreading stop, and I continued everything from week 1. Mostly stayed the same, except for the shampoo treatment began to really dry out my skin. I started to get more uncomfortable from my skin being so dry, and skin started to flake off. By the end of the week, my skin was shedding everywhere and the rash became less raised in some places.

Week 3: At the start of the week, I noticed most of the rash had faded in color and was less raised than before. I continued using my mixture, and then added coconut oil, which was magical. As soon as I started using it in combination with the MoonValley cream, aloe, and neem, my skin healed in days. My skin on my chest is now completely healed, and everything else is faded and is no longer even noticeable.

Definitely think the coconut oil helped the most. Hope this is helpful!
