The best way to tell if it's a fungus is to use anti-fungal cream that you can buy from any pharmacy. I thought mine was a fungus and used prescription strengh cream and quickly realized it was not a fungus. I'm a dark skinned female as well so I know how debilitating this could be for you. I was scared my PR was something other than that for the longest... I even thought skin cancer for a while, but it was PR which can manifest in diferent ways for different people, but it all boils down to TIME. It takes time to heal and will get worse before it gets better... but it gets better. That's the key thing to remember. If you have seen 3 DR's and they all diagnosed you with PR... I would put faith in that.

Stressing is not helping, although I know it's SO HARD not to stress, it really does make it worse. My doc prescribed Xanax for me during the last part of my PR outbreak and it helped to calm my nerves considerably. I had never taken it before and I still have well over half the bottle left, but it helped with the stress.

Make sure you're getting some SUN on your affected areas every day if you can.
