Are you honestly trying to suggest that people are completely unable to resist making disgusting pigs out of themselves with their chocolate consumption? Are you suggesting that they will actually go through physical withdrawals? Are you suggesting that they will physically and emotionally abuse people around them as a result of their indulgence in chocolate?
Pippa - I find this column deeply offensive and poorly thought through. You might feel it OK to make light of alcoholism and similar addictions and that, frankly only serves to indicate your lack of empathy and maturity in this matter. I sincerely hope that you re-think this article and re-consider whether you are actually qualified enough to write professionally.
