Hi,
Let me see if I can help. First of all, I want to say that I understand the emotional toll this takes on you. We tried to conceive for 6 months, and every month I KNEW I was pregnant. There were tell-tale signs, even though I also know the information (as you do) that pregnancy symptoms and pre-menstrual symptoms are identical. I wanted so bad to be pregnant, to stop wondering, and really, truly felt that my body was telling me that I was pregnant. Then, I would get my period. One period I had was VERY different than any I had experienced before, but it was a period, unfortunately. Just to let you know many of us have "been there" and it is excruciating.

Here are some pieces of information for you:
1. Your period may be different for a few reasons: you are focusing more on your periods, and noticing slight (or significant) inconsistencies that you may not have noticed before. Your periods may be more watery because, well frankly, you are having unprotected sex and may have semen that is also leaking out at the same time. (Sperm can stay in your body for several days, up to 5 days!).
2. Pregnancy symptoms and pre-menstrual symptoms are identical, as many of the same hormones are responsible. I know...you would think something as miraculous as having a fertilized egg implant into your uterus, creating a viable pregnancy, would have some more significant "signs", but there usually are none until further into the pregnancy (usually after a missed period).
3. Your husband would not be able to "feel" something inside of you (thankfully!), as the embryo implants itself into your uterus. The penis only is inside the vagina, and the cervix is in-between the vagina and uterus. He may be feeling the inside walls of your vagina, or could be in deep enough to feel your cervix. Your vagina can feel different, as you may/may not be as lubricated during different times of the month, and that would create a different sensation for him.

Let's talk about the dates you provided:
- Your menstrual period was April 11th, which counts as "day 1".
- Then, you had unprotected sex on April 18th & 21st, which are on days 8 & 11 of your cycle. You could have been ovulating at this time (or, around this time...remember the egg is only viable for about 24 hours, and sperm can "hang around" for 3-5 days inside your body). There is a possibility you were not ovulating at this time, too. You said the predictor kit was a negative for ovulation when you tested.
- Your LMP was May 8th ("day 1" again). Some women do have some spotting during pregnancy, but if you are bleeding and pregnant, this is a reason to see the doctor. Women do not have their menstrual period during a viable pregnancy (there are rare exceptions). You can count this as a period because: it was around the time of your expected period (28-day long cycle), you bled for 3-4 days. This was most likely a menstrual period, even if it felt different, because of this length of time, because of the timing. Some periods are different in amount, color, texture of menstrual fluid...this is all normal.

Today is June 1st, and you are expecting your next period in 5 days. Honestly, it could occur at any time (today is "Day 25" of your cycle, and the normal range of cycle lengths is 21-35 days).

I hope this information helps! I know it's not what you wanted to hear, that your last bleeding was most likely your period, but you still have this cycle to wonder about. Did you and your husband have unprotected sex since your LMP (last menstrual period) after May 8th?

How long have you been trying to conceive?
