Mrs. Poplin2008,

I sure understand why you would be nervous. Being pregnant after two years of trying -- and then learning that it was an ectopic pregnancy -- must have been such a rollercoaster for you. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but I'm glad that you and your doctor think the time is right to try again.

You do have a higher risk of having another ectopic pregnancy, since you have already had one; your chances range between 10 and 25%. But you also have a very good chance of having a perfectly normal pregnancy -- up to about 85 percent of women who have had an ectopic pregnancy have gone on to have a normal one.

With your Metformin (which was studied in pregnant women at the University of Baylor) and your different diet, it sounds like your doctor is doing everything possible to help you conceive and carry safely to term. I wish you all the best, and hope you'll come back to update us, OK?
