Hi Kelsey,
I am so sorry you had to go through such a traumatic event, and are still living through difficult times with your body after the accident.

If you have tried other hormonal contraceptives, it would not hurt to try the Depo shot...it would be great if it works to regulate your period. Many women (without prior traumatic events/accidents) need to try different hormonal contraceptives before they find the right one for them; you may have to try more before you find the one that helps regulate your cycle. I hope Depo is the right one for you, and it may take 3-6 months (or more) before you will know.

Have your doctors ruled out any underlying medical conditions that could also be effecting your cycle? Are you taking any other medications, as the menstrual cycle is a delicate balance of hormones that start in the pituitary gland, signaling other hormones to begin maturing an egg, etc. Any other chronic conditions and/or treatments could effect your cycle...but there is hope that you can find the balance between all of them to be able to have a somewhat predicable cycle (or, a cycle that you can live with).

Also, are you seeing a counselor or psychologist? You sound very sad, mad, angry, depressed...and it would be so helpful to talk with someone who specializes in working with individuals who have gone through life-changing events. We can help you find someone if you like, and please feel free to talk with us about what else is going on in your life (not just your menstrual cycle). I'm sorry that you are dealing with all of this, and we are here to talk with you!

Take care, and hope to hear from you again soon.
