Hi,
I was diagnosed with severe spondylosis L4-L5 and L5-S1 at age of 12. I had any treatment you can image from pain relief to fysio to injections ... and finaly an operation. I have seen about as many docter as I had treatments. One advice, stay with the doctor that you feel you can trust. Ask for second or third opnions when you think it is necessary. Most important listen to your body.
Once you have it, you'll never be 100% ok. You learn to live with the pain and from time to time you will find yourself pain free.
At 19 I started to show signs of paralysis. Two years later I needed an operation to avoid permanent paralysis. Waking up from surgery was the best day ever. The pain was gone. After more fysio to strengthen my muscels I'm ok now without medicine. I still have bad days but I listen better to my body and I take a break when I need to.
Now I'm 27 and married and yes we want a child. I would love to be a mother but I choose not to get pregnant myself. We decided to choose a surrogate mother. I fought so hard to be where I am now that I want to enjoy it as long as I can. A pregnancy can be wonderfull but you only have one back, one life, take care of it.
Never stop talking to your doctor, explain your concerns and thoughts.
Keep in mind we are a lot stronger than we think we are but not unbreakable.
