I had extreme back pain during and after my first pregnancy. I finally was diagnosed a few years later, after becoming pregnant again, with DDD. It has flared up with each pregnancy and I have constant pain during it and then after for about 1-1.5 years due to the demand of caring for a baby. I have been able to become pretty pain free around the time my kids have turned 18 months with chiropractic and physical therapy. The best thing that has helped, oddly enough, has been wrapping a towel around a rolling pin and laying directly over it and rolling on top of it. I want more kids but am nervous about making my back worse. At the same time, I’m not sure it’s any worse after my second child than my first child, but still the risk is what scares me.
