It could be a lot of things. You didn't mention how long you two have been together, but sometimes interest does wane when a couple has been together for quite a while. And your friend is right -- it IS important to a relationship.
But unfortunately, only you and he know what's going on in your minds. Even though it's tough, you're going to have to talk it out and figure out where to go from here. It's possible that what he says is true -- that he's tired from work. He may feel that you are too needy, and he's pulling away from that feeling. Yes, he may have met someone else, or there might be an internet porn issue. These are some of the things we've seen from others with questions like yours.
Can I ask about your life? How old are each of you? Do you two live together, and if so, for how long? Do you work? Do you keep up with your girlfriends? Do you exercise, or do other things out on your own? In other words, do you have a life outside of this cocoon that you and your boyfriend have built?
