Anon - We're not able to specifically determine the cause of your pain. If you are saying that you have pain in your mouth where you used to have a tooth, then you should be examined by a dentist as you may have gum disease or a problem with a nearby tooth and need to get it checked out before it gets worse.
In terms of the pain in your arm, here is what I think your dentist was trying to tell you. You have nerves in your brain, and about half of them go to the mouth, jaws and lower face. These nerves connect to the rest of the body in a very complex system. Sometimes when people have dental problems that affect the nerves in the mouth, jaws and lower face they can also have nervous system problems that impact other parts of the body and cause pain.
I have never heard a dental professional specifically state that not having an implant would cause arm pain; I am unable to find clinical references to this nor has anyone I personally know who has chosen to not replace a missing tooth ever complained of arm pain.
