Women's periods vary all the time - in duration, amount of flow, and so forth. It's not at all unusual for them to be a bit early or a bit late, especially if you are not on an oral contraceptive. You said you had "protected" sex, then asked if you could be pregnant from your period being early, so I'm not quite sure if you had protected or unprotected sex. They key thing is to make sure that you are always using some form of protection. If you continue to experience changes in your periods, or if you experience extreme changes, then you should see your health care provider.
