There are many different kinds of progesterone therapy that are used for infertility and it depends on the reason for your infertility. Yes, the therapy is used to control your periods to help establish an ovulation time which of course is helpful with pregnancy.
Since your physician prescribed you to use the pills for 7 days then to stop, there is obviously a reason and you would really have to concentrate on asking many questions during your next visit or call the nurse at the office to get the exact reasons. Unfortunately, there are so many different reasons for infertility that a clear cut answer will have to come from your treating physician for your specific case.
