Bloodlust, it's difficult to know for sure, but I'd say that it means your period is starting or is about to start. Those cramps are common during menstruation -- usually during the first couple of days. They are caused by your uterus contracting to shed the tissue that has built up over the month (and that's what causes you to bleed). Ibuprofen may help with those cramps. They're no fun, I know.
