Thanks for your question, and for being a part of the EmpowHer community. Unfortunately, symptoms of your period can be same or similar as those for pregnancy. Luckily, pregnancy tests are usually 99% effective, so if it says you're not pregnant, you're probably just late. I've had similar experience as you describe, and called my doctor. They told me to wait until next month, see how my period goes, I may have passed a cyst or something. If it's still "strange," to call them and set up an appointment. If you're concerned about what could be going on, do you want to give your doctor a call just to see what they think? Is there a reason you don't use contraception even though you are sexually active? If you don't want to get pregnant, are you open to using contraception?
