I'm a 45 y/o mother of 2 who has always suffered with heavy periods and large clotting that last 7 days. My gyn had recommended this procedure to me for years. Due to fear..... I put the procedure off. On November 14, three days into my cycle, I hemmorraged and had to go the the ER. I was severely anemic and knew I had to make a decision on what to due about my abnormal uterine bleeding. I saw my gyn on 11/17 and he once again gave me my options, one of the three being the uterine ablation. After much consideration I decided to have the uterine ablation. My procedure was yesterday,1/9/2015. So far so good! My experience was much better than I anticipated. I've had little to no pain. The entire experience on a scale of 1 to 10 in pain , for me was a 3. The only time I felt anything was when the probe was inserted into my uterus. I had a strong cramp , that's it. Very little cramping followed the procedure and clear discharge. So far I've been blessed. Hopefully the next few days will be just as smooth. I pray this is a success for my abnormal uterine bleeding. I will keep updating. With what I've experienced thus far, I would recommend the procedure and if it helps eliminate my AUB, I will definitely recommend the procedure. God bless all who suffer with AUB and other female problems.
