TT, did the dermatologist give you a diagnosis? Have you had a biopsy to identify exactly what these skin lesions are? There are some autoimmune skin illnesses that cause rashes like that. One example is lichen planus, http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000867.htm, which can drive you nuts for a couple of years and then disappear again.
I'm with Pat, if your derm isn't taking this seriously and it is really bothering you, get a second opinion. Good luck.
