Hi,
Your low dose birth control is just as effective as higher doses. The amount of estrogen difference is minimal ("ultra low dose" bcp has about 20 mcg of estrogen, compared to "low dose" bcp has about 30-35 mcg of estrogen). They are both 99% effective at preventing pregnancy when used consistently and correctly. And, actually...the percentage is 99.999% effective!

Since you are also using the withdrawal method (your partner withdraws his penis during sex, before ejaculating), this method alone is about 70% effective at preventing pregnancy. When combined with other birth control methods (like, the pill), you are well protected against pregnancy.

Please know that they only 100% effective method to prevent pregnancy is not to have sexual intercourse at all, but you are doing everything you can to prevent pregnancy.

It sounds like you DID have a period in July, you just are not sure if it was on the 5th or 10th, correct? You can wait until mid-August, for your next period.

Does this information help?
