Hi lauramb,

These pimples could be a few things: ingrown hair, razor bumps, normal "pimple" from glands in your genitals, or STD. Can you explain where these pimples are located (labia majora, labia minora, near pubic hair, near vaginal opening, etc)?

Unfortunately, there is not a test that you can take to be "clear of all STDs", and you can get an STD without having sex (an STI/STD can be spread through sexual activities that involved skin-to-skin contact near/on your genitals without sex).

It is important to have the exact "pimple" looked at by your doctor, as this is the only way to know if it is/is not an STD is while there is a visible pimple. Sometimes pimples (just like acne on your face, for instance) can cause a little discomfort, but should not be painful. Some acne is filled with a little blood, too, so this may not necessarily be cause for alarm. It is important to have any medical conditions ruled out when you are having an "outbreak".

Do you notice any triggers that precede the pimples showing? Are you extra stressed right before the pimple appear, is it during a certain season, or time during your menstrual cycle?
